Title: AMT 1/537 Enterprise Refit Photo Etch By Paragrafix
Post by: pakratt840 on March 13, 2018, 08:48:36 pm
Contacted Paragrafix to see if they had plans to do a photo etch set for the rerelease of the 1/537 Refit. Paul emailed to say that while he had put off doing a set in the past, he was going to do one now since R2 is going to rerelease it this year. I couldn't say when or how much it will be, but if any kit needed photo etch help, it has to be this one.

Didn't see announcement of this re-issue earlier Dan.....   Just looked it up and was UNPLEASANTLY surprised to see lots of grid/panel lines....

It's gonna take a ton of brass to hide all that!

Yeah, Wolf, unfortunately the grid/brickwork is still there. Apparently it would have required a completely new tooling to get rid of those offensive panels. I'm guessing the photo etch will address things like the docking hatches, a more accurate observation lounge window frame, etc.

It would be good if there was Photoetch to replace the landing pad detail on the bottom of fhe saucer.  I can't believe they carved all those inaccurate panel lines into the molds but didn't fix the missing pad.

I sell Aztec decals and a set of 2 color paint masks for this kit. I wouldn't recommend the masks
unless you plan on making it a smoothy though. You can find them on my site.
