Hello from Tennessee
« on: June 12, 2013, 02:14:01 pm »
Hello my name is Joey, I took a break from modeling for several years after my dad pasted away. While he was sick modeling kept him alert and many wonderful hours were spent together working on different models. After finding Trekworks and watching the 1/350 refit build, I decided I had to jump into it and the new skills I have picked up from Trekworks youtube channel have really started to inspire me again. I have never worked with lighting or photoetch parts with a model but overall things are going pretty decent (I think). Thank you everyone for having an amazing forum full of skill and support. Hopefully I will not have a breakdown working on this monster. lol  ;D

Almost forgot, a little advice would be amazing when it comes to this photoetch part.  I have been fighting with Tamiya white putty for days trying to get this window looking correct. There are still little places, but overall it feels smooth. I putty and sand, I putty and sand, I putty and sand, I finally tried bondo to see if it would work much better. I dunno... lol A friend said my OCD is kicking in and it feels smooth and should cover fine with primer? Any thoughts or suggestions.  Any input is amazing. Thanks everyone!

Welcome, Joey !

The best way to see if it needs more putty or not is actually to prime it... The primer will make any imperfections more visible, and if you got some just apply putty once again and then prime again... And again... And again... And again... Well, at least until your happy with it...
