USS Lakota
« on: August 08, 2013, 10:04:56 pm »
Well I figured out picture resizing using a tip in another post. Here is one of the models I recently finished. It is Round 2's re-issue of the Enterprise B built as the USS Lakota. The red stripes for the upper and lower saucer messed up on me and I had to scrap them, I was a bit disappointed about losing such a big detail, but here is a sample of how it looks. I have more pics I will post once I resize them. Thanks, Eric

Just watched the DS9 episode that had the Lakota in it.
Nice build .. but not so nice backdrop to make her really shine :p: :)

Your ship looks good!  I am currently doing the same model currently, and want it a Lakota as well.  They made it bad ass in DS9 when they refitted it with quantum torpedos.

I will have some extra top saucer stipes when i am done with mine.  E-mail me and I will send them to you.

I like it. I was pleasantly surprised when it appeared in DS9.

Anyone know if there are any differences in the old AMT kit and R2's version?

The bottom saucer section is different.  There are more smaller panels in the old AMT kit.  The R2 is more realistic to how it appeared in the movie.

Thanks guys for your kind comments on my ship, I hope to learn some new tips and tricks from this forum, one thing I haven't really gotten into yet is weathering or battle damage. I've been building Star Trek models since I was 13 and I am very familiar with the old AMT kits. I will be posting pics of my lighted 1/350 refit soon, and of my current lighting of the USS Reliant R2 re-issue kit. I am also getting ready to tackle the 1/500 Into Darkness Revell Enterprise, i'm very excited about building it. Thanks again all, Eric  :)
