Hi, Everyone!

I was able to pick up this somewhat-rare and unique limited release 2011 Polar Lights 1:25 1966 Batman Batmobile Deluxe Edition (kit number POL881).

Things about this glue-together kit that made it stand out from the other 2011 and on releases include:

  • Special box with no text on the top image
  • Parts molded in white
  • Figures from the 2010 1:25 snap-together model (kit number POL824) come unassembled and unpainted
  • Can build the Batmobile as seen in seasons 1, 2, or 3 with various additional optional parts
  • Different steering wheels and exhausts
  • Build the engine as the V8 or the jet turbine
  • Two sets of tires
  • Parts to build the car into the Birdmobile from the season 1 episode 22 "Not Yet, He Ain't" when the Penguin steals the Batmobile and makes it his own
  • 36 parts stainless steel photoech sheet

Here is the assembly instructions in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format: http://round2corp.com/model-kit-instructions/uploads/pol881.pdf

I was able to snag an open-box kit for $25.00 U.S.D. which isn't too bad at all.  The photoetch sheet makes it all worth it.

:)

That's practically a steal Gadgetron! The photo etch alone makes it worth it, since they never have sold it separately.

LOL
Sort of. Had to pay for a small fraction of it myself, hence why I was allowed to take a couple pics ...

Hi, Everyone.

I was went to the Kit Collectors Expo in Garden Grove, CA (https://kitcollectorsshow.wixsite.com/kits) this past Sunday (11/19/17).

There was this one vendor who was selling car kits almost exclusively, but on top of one of his stacks I found this little gem...

2011 Pegasus Hobbies 1:18 My Favorite Martian Uncle Martin and Spaceship (kit number 9012)

This kit has a low parts count of 20 pieces which includes working doors, a clear interior instrument panel that can be lit up, and a detailed vinyl figure of Uncle Martin.  Consultation with James Hulsey, the original series art director and designer of the spacecraft, was part of Pegasus' research into this project.  The spaceship measures about 7 inches in length.

I was able to snag this one for $5.00 U.S.D. which is about one-fifth the usual retail price.  Pretty good!

I've seen a couple of build ups before on this kit. It's a pretty nice kit based on what I saw. Uncle Martin must not have been claustrophobic at all. Imagine traveling from Mars to Earth crammed into that tiny little craft stuck in a semi-reclined position.

If Batman qualifies, why not The Merc With A Mouth.

A visit to the hobby shop in Massillon, OH last Saturday netted me a Revell ME-109G kit (for the decals), some assorted putty and paints, and this little kit for 25% since it was a Black Friday weekend sale. The BSG stash grows by one.
