I was outbid on one of these fellows on ebay not so long ago; I will enjoy seeing you build this one up (I may end up stealing some ideas you come up with once I get one of my own). I wish you fun and success, with the build up and the contest!

Day One... Had to work.
Opened the box.
That's about it for today.
Actually I'm experimenting with how to make vaccuformed plastic look like real ice and snow.
Pictures show textured look. Sugar used on left and cornmeal on right. Sugar looks more in scale.

Very Cool! I had the exterior Hoth Base with the Walkers and Speeders. Loved that kit when I was a kid... I wonder where it ever got off to? Anyway, lookingofrward to following along on your build. May the Force be With You!

Looks good, I have never used sugar or cornmeal to replicate snow so Ill be watching to see how it turns out. I have used spackle and sand before, or white glue, sand, and paint. Look forward to see how it comes together.

Roaches don't like it covered in paint though.
Sand was to large and uniform. The sugar dissolves
a little and is less uniform. After paint and clear sealer
it works great.
