SFMA Big Spring Build Contest - 1:1400 Enterprise E (Modified)
« on: February 28, 2014, 10:32:43 am »
So here's my entry. I hope the Finnish text on the phone doesn't confuse you. ;)

I might not be able to start this build on this weekend as my boss asked me to do some more building on 1/1 icebreaker as the ship goes to test drive on Thursday morning and there's some work which needs to be done before that. But at least then I might have bit longer weekend, so I can start drilling some windows. After March I have plenty of time to do model building as after that icebreaker is gone there's a few months off the work as the next ship in line is so late.

The aftermarket stuff are on their way... I think as one of three items bought from same eBay seller at the same time is marked as shipped and two others aren't. I have to contact seller if they aren't in the same package. If I succeed on finishing this ship in time this will be first Enterprise which gets to finished even though this is the latest in the collection and I have four other builds in (very slow) progress and four more yet to start. :D

I like the look of this ship, so I will be enjoying the progress that you make on her.  I wish you fun and success, with the build and the contest!   8)
That model really tied the room together.

I could have done that, but since i get bit over normal weeks pay when going to work on weekend so this is obvious choise. And this will help on funding of my model building.  8)

I thought I made a  build thread about Enterprise E...

It's still a model thread...  just a different kind of model.

Small update. Today I started drilling windows and I can now see, that this is gonna take a while. Two hours and two 0,3mm drill bits broken I have gotten only this far.

I know 0,3mm is bit small for these windows, but that is only a good thing so I got room to clean the windows when I get that stage. On the bussard effect I have found some code for Arduino, which might suit on my needs with some modifications. Also I might get some more work done on this model on my job hours, since rest of the ship I got fire guard duty, which means sitting on the bridge alone and doing nothing, except if fire alarm goes off and then I'll notify shipyards fire department where the fire alarm went off. Other than that there's not much to do, so I though bringing my Enterprise to work and try to get some work done on that :D
