Not quite windows drilled yet, but today I did something bit different... sort of. Almost all my current build includes bussard tests, so here's another. It's still in development stage, as I will change the led layout. Also I will do more adjustments to the Arduino code I found from the internet, until I'm happy with the effect. Just need to figure out the proper numbers to achieve it. Current diffuse to the bussard is made with the masking tape, but final version will be properly "frosted" clear parts.

Today I finally have drilled all the windows... of the upper saucer section :P But I think that's over the half of the windows I need to drill for this build.

Also I did some adjustments on the code for bussard effect and I think I'm now quite happy how it looks, but I'll know for sure when I do some led re-positioning. Hopefully I can get some light block painting done, before I do final test, as then I could start doing rest of the nacelle.

I'd go barking howling mad drilling out all those windows.  Great work.

Someone will have to stop me if I ever try this kit. My eyes are bad enough already. Probably be permanently cross-eyed after all those windows. Great work, though, Finn!

Yes it will be faster now. The C I did seemed to take forever. Looking good.

Funny how you said things will be faster now as you are right. Today I spent about three hours on lower saucer and starboard side of secondary hull which are now drilled. Only ones left are port side of secondary and piece which comes to behind the saucer and this I noticed from saberuk's build thread, as I haven't watched that closely on every piece this kit has. :D But on weekend workshift I should get rest of the windows drilled. Of course there some other drilling to do for wires and fiber optics as well, but those are quick to do.

Too bad I can't take my soldering equipment to work, as fire work isn't allowed in the ship anymore without special permission. So those and painting I have to do on my freetime. But perhaps I'll drill windows on my B and C while I still have my fire guard duty and work on E at home.

Nice job on the windows...your patience is paying off...something I am learning myself, and watching this build is an excellent reminder of taking ones time.

Pinvice or dremmel? Hehe. ;D

Oh, I have't mentioned that little detail what tool I used to drill the windows. I used Dremel 8100 with detail grip.

Nice work.  Are you sure you have enough windows?  Might want to count them again. LOL

So that detail grip really does help with precise drilling. Good to know. Thinking about getting one for my 8220 Dremel. Certainly can't argue with the evidence in the photos. Some fine work done there.

Last Sunday I got rest of the windows drilled. Today I have parts light blocked and reflective white paint layer applied. When I took the pictures I noticed that I still have some window cleaning to do. Also secondary hull also need some cleaning since seems like I didn't apply enough thin layers of paint, so windows leaked some paint to the hull, but that should be easily cleaned with light sanding. On weekend I may take my soldering equipment with me to work, so I can start applying some lightning.
