Thanks guys!

Here are my casted resin parts for the plasma vents. Did more than needed so I can pick the best ones and I also will be building another version of this model later on so I'm making plenty. The grills didn't not cast very well, so I'm going to redo the master for those or just make them all by hand (not my preferred method for sure)

Working on the Shuttle Bay.
Like the arboretum in the 350 Refit you cant see a lot of it, but still want to do a good job.

Here is the artist rendition of the shuttle bay.

And here is how it looked in the show in the episode "The Sound of Her Voice"

And here is my version with a little primer, no paint or decals and the observation platform is not in place (until painted)

Different angle...

From the back side, no PE in place yet.

Observation platform and railing (not attached yet)

Shuttle view and what you can see when mounted - not a lot :)

Another angle...

Now that is cool. Never thought about a shuttle bay before!

Gonna have to make one of those for my new Defiant!

Before I get to far along I want to address one of the issues with the kit and that is there are no center supports in the two halves. This causes the well know flexing problem know to ruin a paint/decal job and your day.
Here is a video of the problem.

And here are a few steps I have done on the inside of the model to help.

Inner pylons

Big epoxy fan  ;D   -  think I used enough?

Very nice. The shuttle bay is taking shape. Love to see white styrene shaped into art. 8)

Wow, what a great idea to add the bay. This will bring the model up. Nice job and can't wait to see how it looks. Great inspiration to future modelers on this kit.
If It's a model kit, I like it already.

Jumping around to the warp drives...

The DLM (Don's Light and Magic) resin replacement part

This is the back and the are some raised areas where the blue inserts go - going to sand them flush.

Shopping trip to Dollar Store!

Fast way to dull your scissors, but what the heck...

Tape what remains after tugging on it to form squashed squares...

Trace the general shape of the DLM part - far from perfect, but thats ok...

More scissors dulling action.

Remove tape, and CA the mesh to the DLM resin part...

Compare to the studio model...

Another shot of the studio model

This is great work Caladonis!  :o
Thanks for the reference pics too. I was never really aware of the detail within the nacelles. Do you know what size your internal spacers were? Man, you are doing a great job on this! Keep up the awesome work!!  8)
