Hi from central Texas!
« on: August 10, 2014, 09:56:00 pm »
Hi,
I found this site after viewing Trekworks youtube vids on his Enterprise refit build. I've been away from the hobby for almost 30 years and am now getting back in. Being a diehard Star Trek fan and after watching those builds I've decided on starting with the 350 scale refit.
I've ordered the kit and am now searching the forums for what other items I'll need to finish.
I'm leaning to doing this as a -A, but may change my mind and do it as a mix and take some creative liberties. :)
So far I've picked tenacontrols, HDAmodelworx and Orbital Drydocks for aftermarket parts and welcome any input that would help me build a quality kit.
Thanks

We need another Texan -- Welcome!  I think Karve is from Roundrock, Boyd's in San Antonio and I'm in Austin.  Looking forward to your builds too.

Welcome Afrey1967! Look forward to seeing your 1/350 Refit build. Another aftermarket item(s) for this kit would be the ParaGrafix Photoetch sets. You probably saw Boyd use them on his build log on his Trekworks channel. Here's the link to their homepage. http://www.paragrafix.biz/

Hiya Afrey and welcome!
You picked a great forum to join to work your way through your refit with. I did the same thing as you...jumped right into the refit after seeing Boyd's videos. (He sucks Everyone in with those...he has such power!)

You cannot go wrong with any of these guys. I've dealt with all three and they are the best!

Hi Afrey!  Welcome to SFMA!!

You may want to build the 1/1000 Refit kit by Round 2 as a warm up for the big boy!  It's a great little kit and may help you to work up a game plan.

Nice to have you aboard!!  :)
Ooooooo!  I think I may buy that kit!

Jeff.

Thanks again guys! This build will take awhile.
Yes Boyd's videos got me hooked!  Actually I never would have found his vids if I hadn't been in a bad motorcycle accident and stuck here surfing the web! So I can thank that "wonderful" Austin traffic!
Ordered the paragraphix today.
Oh, sorry to say I'm originally from Pa (Philly suburbs), moved to Texas about 6 years ago. I'm in Kyle just south of Austin. Aside from the Dallas Cowboys and Austin traffic I like Texas. lol
