2nd attempt

Update

Wow it's been five months and I've achieved very little. So far I have had three or is it four goes at trying to get the right colour blue for the leading edges of the pylons and the front of the nacelles.

I have been using the TMP Refit Paint Guide from Trekmodeller as my reference, I just can't seem to get the shades right. I was hoping for something like mix 1 part Tamiya Light Blue X23 with 5 parts MM flat white, rather than the tone down with MM flat white

Any help with the mix would be greatly appreciated.

JK! I also have been having trouble with posting my updates! I just chalked it up to "Stupid User Error!" (SUE) namely - me!

Glad to see the Gremlins aren't selective.

Try again, but try modifying the post rather than a new one - that works for me.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Spent a bit of time painting the bridge and upper saucer this weekend. Totally appalled at the result. Not posting pictures.
Going to buy some windex and strip the whole model back and start over.

But I did finally get up the courage to fire up my airbrush yesterday. Only put water through it for first attempt as advised by a beginning tutorial. But it's a start.

I have ordered some Vallejo model air paints as to go with my usual Tamiya Acrylics.

And I figured out my colour issues for the blue around the bridge. Helps to read instructions properly.

Wow, almost two years since my last post. Time flies when your health falls in a hole.

Sad to say very little progress has been made in that time. But my energy levels are finally up and I have unpacked most of my modelling gear.

Hope to post some new pictures in the next couple of weeks.
