Looking good as always Shawn.

Been through your thread but seeing as this is the original issue of this kit are you use the upgrade parts for the windows/hull?

Thank you Iain.  I'm just using the original AMT model without the resin saucer upgrades.  So far it has worked out well. The only problem I had so far was fitting the hulls together when the LED's were put in, but I moved the wiring around and it worked.   I will have to strategically place the circuit boards in there, but did a test fit and those look like they are going to fit in there too.

I'm in the middle of moving to a new house so all the model stuff is going to have to stop for months.

I'm pretty sad about that really.  I love working on models, but I have to get ready to move.

She's looking good.

And the next time you get frustrated with the air brush -- well, rolling DOES help.

Good luck with the move, Shawn. And don't let the movers get a hold of your kits. No sense taking chances. ;)

Hi all,

I'm back!   It's been 2 years since I've posted.  I'm done with the house remodel and am now back on board to working on my Reliant.

All the pictures are of 2 years ago.  I just never posted them until now.

I had added a wire harness type thing in the bottom of the hull.  Since then it is all wired up and ready to go.  I got that type of harness so the ship can be separated from the base if need be.

I put a hole in the bottom of the ship to match the size of the wire harness.

(I think) I used the sculpting putty around the harness.

Since then I added all the wires.  Tons of them.  I didn't take a picture of that.

I moved on to the planetary sensor.

It ended up looking light this:

I've done some other things since then.  I'm also starting the painting of the model. That is kind of hit and miss.

Thank you to MSgtUSAFRet (Steve) for the posting information and support.

Thanks for looking,
Shawn

Hi all,

So back to the Reliant. I've been working, but haven't really posted to much so here goes.

Here are some shots of the painting.

Then I painted the nacelles and here they are.

I went to light up the shuttle bays using some LED tape.  There was no tolerance for this tape so I had to trench out the top of the saucer to make everything fit.

There are a ton of wires in here.  Three boards control the photons, the strobes and navigation, and the fading in and out of the impulse, warp, and crystal lights.

I'm pretty much ready to put the two halves together.
