Hello from Raleigh NC
« on: April 06, 2017, 10:55:53 pm »
Hello,

I'm completely new to model building and I found TrekWorks YouTube channel when researching the U.S.S. Enterprise D. This is the first time joining a forum like this. I'm excited to start digging into all the different threads :)

I just ordered AMT955 Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D (Clear Edition) Model Kit from amazon.

I also have the U.S.S Enterprise D blueprints from Rick Sternbach. My ultimate goal is to build a 4 foot model Enterprise D from scratch. I decided that it would be best to start with something smaller, hence the model kit.

I will!

I'm starting off small, I just got a bunch of Evergreen Scale Model supplies. Figured the best way to start is just making some random stuff and just play around. Kind of like this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACaREATtMrk, but not as good :)

Amiller, Welcome to the Forums!

IMHO, this is one of the better forums so, yeah, you picked a great place to hang out! (Thanks, Karve!)

Ambitious goal of building a 4 foot model! From scratch, no less! Outstanding!

Once you get your smaller project from Amazon, start a WIP thread and the encouragement and advice will start pouring in!

Oh, and post LOTS of pictures! We like the color!!

LLAP!

Thanks guys!!

I'm still waiting on some supplies to get in. I've been watching Jay Coob (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRlFfi3I5GU) scratch build and learning what I can while I wait.
