Wow. That is limited.

Any idea how many are coming to the US?

None whatsoever I'm afraid Phil, that number MAY have been heresay but judging by the rapidness it was sold out at and that I have not seen any more coming in at the RRP it may just be accurate!

First I'd heard about it being a limited release. Yikes.

BTW, that we're just now finding out doesn't spell good things. I'm still galled that Nintendo didn't fess up to that with the NES Classic units until very recently, if this is the same sort of deal I'm going to start getting really annoyed.

Hi, Everyone!

I went to my local HobbyTown to check on the Revell North American release (kit number 85-6459).  The kit is in their system as "order pending" and the in-store price will be $119.00 U.S.D.

Current eBay prices on the Revell Germany release (kit number 06052) coming out of the U.K. is anywhere from about $140.00 U.S.D. and up which includes shipping.  Here is an eBay search link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xrevell+06052.TRS0&_nkw=revell+06052&_sacat=0.

Prices have dropped for the original Zvezda release, so if you want to get it from a Russian eBay seller, the kit can be had now for $69.00 U.S.D. plus whatever shipping.  And here is that eBay search link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xzvezda.TRS0&_nkw=zvezda+star+destroyer&_sacat=0.

Stay tuned.

Going to be starting the first one of mine in a couple of weeks but still debating how to light it with either leds/fiber optics or led tape?

Anyone got any thoughts on the matter? ;)

I'd do fiber optic; it'll be a closer "match" appearance wise than the LED tape could ever do.

Was thinking that myself Lynn TBH but wanted your's and others opinions. Some superb builds over on the RPF forums.

While I worked a brief stint in the model industry here in Japan, I befriended a guy in Moscow who had offered to get this kit for me in exchange for some model kits he'd like from Japan. But then he started buying the kits he'd requested, and he never replied to my most recent email. It would've cost me only about 8,000 yen to get one through him (I'm guessing about $75US), but my hope seems to be fizzling at this point. I haven't been able to afford one anyway. Maybe I'll just light up the Revell lights & sound Star Destroyer my American Friend gave me instead.

I just pre-ordered the Revell kit yesterday. I looked around at a couple of sites and www.megahobby.com had it for $116.95 and free shipping. The availability information suggested July for U.S. release. It keeps getting pushed back a month at a time. I'm in no hurry though.
