[Moebius U.S.S. Franklin] 1:350 Original Release
« on: May 22, 2017, 08:10:43 pm »
Hi, Everyone!

Back during San Diego Comic Con 2016, Moebius announced that they acquired the license to produce Kelvin Timeline Star Trek model kits.  Their intention is to produced kits of the U.S.S. Kelvin (Star Trek 2009), the Jellyfish (Star Trek 2009), the U.S.S. Franklin (Star Trek Beyond), and the Enterprise (Star Trek Beyond - although they did not specify which of the two versions that appeared in the movie).

A few online stores have now begun using a new promotional image for the previously-announced Moebius 1:350 Star Trek Beyond U.S.S. Franklin (kit number MOE975).

Check out the image:

From the image:

  • Ultra-detailed model kit based on CGI files from the film
  • Precision engineered tooling ensures the ultimate in crisp, precise detail
  • Superior part fit
  • Includes detailed assembly instructions and marking decals

The ship in the image is from the movie, of course, and not the actual kit itself.  Not much is known about this kit beyond the suggested $59.99 U.S.D. MSRP and that it will be about 15.5-inches long.

Some of the stores have put a guess release time frame to be the very end of 2017 to early 2018, but who knows.

Stay tuned...

:)

Other than the Franklin being 350 scale, did they say what the scale will be for the others?

It does beg the question will there be a 350 scale JJPrise then?  The Kelvin?

Gonna be good no matter what!

Unfortunately I can see them being expensive if coming from Moebius. :(

Considering the JJProse is almost the same size as the Enterprise D, it's unlikely there will ever be a 350 scale kit for the same reason why there will never be a 350 scale D-  it would be over 6' long!

Any other Moebius Star Trek Model pics? What other Kits are they going to do and did they have any prototypes there? Any other Comicon release information?
