Hello There
« on: September 05, 2017, 03:30:26 pm »
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new user on the forum.

I have been acquiring models over the years and intermittently building whenever I have time. I have been really impressed with the skills in this community, and I look forward from learning more about this art. I really think it will help elevate my own skills! I've already learned a lot from Boyd at TrekWorks by following his YouTube video series.

Anyway, I look forward to learning from everyone.

Welcome Aboard, Alex!

Grab a WIP thread and start building! I would love to see your work!

Again, Welcome!

Welcome, Alex!  I'm new here, too, but I've already had a lot of kind words from the other members.  Enjoy!

Just picked these up a few days ago. However, I have a lot to complete before I am experienced enough to try them. Right now I am working on prepping a lot of my builds...Sanding the brick off 2x 1/537 AMT Ents and sanding the raised details off 2x 1/1400 Ent-Ds. Drilling widows... I am saving up for electronics. I want to start using what I have learned from the community and give back. However, I live in a small apartment and it is not conducive for painting. In several years, I hope to have a house and I think I will be better able to exercise my modeling dreams. My models in the box:

2x 1/350 PL TOS Ent
2x 1/350 PL Refit Ent
2x 1/350 R2 Bird of Prey
1x 1/650 AMT TOS Ent (glow in the dark)
2x 1/537 AMT Refit Ent
1x 1/537 AMT Refit (Smoothie)
1x 1/537 R2 Reliant
1x 1/1400 R2 Ent C
2x 1/1400 Ent D
1x 1/1400 R2 Ent E
1x Revel Voyager

A lot to save up for if I want to do them right...

Wow, Alex!  That's a whole lot of styrene!  You might have to call for backup.  Look forward to seeing your progress on all this.  Maybe you'll start a YouTube channel as well?

Wow, Alex!

Can I be your kid?! And, if so, will you buy me models, too?!

I think you named off my entire inventory (stash) that has taken me years to get; and you "Just picked these up a few days ago"?!

Dude!  ;D ;D

Can't wait to see your work!

I picked up the two in the picture a few days ago. All the others, I have been collecting for years like yourself.  ;D

Sorry for the confusion. I wish I had the money for all these at one time!

I have to save for all the electronics on these suckers.  :(

Ain't that the truth! The kit is often the least part of the expense, after factoring in the electronics, aftermarket parts, decals and masks, paint, tools which you never seem to have that right one for the task, etc. But when it's finished and you can say "I built this!" it's all worth it.
