IMC 1/48 scale LearJet with Lights
« on: October 03, 2017, 08:31:12 am »
Hi all!

It's time for another non sci-fi model build for me. A few months back, I purchased several old model kits from a co-worker. One of them is an IMC 1/48 scale Lear Jet. It's a nice looking kit with lots of details. One of the details is that the plane is covered with rivets. This makes it really difficult to sand the plane. I will have lots of gap issues on the plane and I will probably have to sacrifice many of the rivets to fix the gaps. I will need to plan in advance as to what I might have to sand down so I can make it symmetrical throughout the plan. I don't want to just have gaps of missing rivets. I will be adding navigation lights on the wings and some lights in the cabin and passenger section. I washed the parts last night and this morning i assembled the engines and doors. You have to love old instructions sheets because the really tell you nothing and the parts are not numbered.

When I have some more work done I will be sure to post them. Thanks for following along!

Mike

I've used Testors fine tip applicator to replace rivets with a drop of glue.
