What is best putty for Photoetch?
« on: April 26, 2018, 11:01:38 am »
I'm hoping to do a little survey here. Boyd prefers to blend photoetch parts to plastic by puttying with
3M spot putty. It's really easy to apply and sand. Marvelous stuff. But, it's not very strong. I have
easily popped out PE parts because the putty is not that strong.

Care to recommend a strong putty or other, that will hold PE firmly, and yet be easy to sand? I've considered
Apoxie Sculpt, which is like a plumber's putty, extremely strong, but I bet it's hard to sand.

What do you use?

I use the 3M or plain old Squadron white putty. If your bond between the photoetch and the model
is sound it doesn't have to be strong.
