TOS rust ring

Was wondering how everyone goes about applying the rust ring to the top of the tos saucer? And what colours we all use?

I am pretty sure one of Boyd's TOS 350 builds handles airbrushing the ring in place. Rolled painters tape would help soften the boarders. I will try to do some research and give you a specific link - if possible.

I used ground chalk pastel dust and a dry brush to put on my rust ring. I could then ad a little extra at the grid lines. https://flic.kr/p/krArdQ
