TOS Bastard Domes

I'm trying to figure out how to get that frosted look on the bastard domes on my 1/350 TOS Enterprise does anyone have any tips on how to get that look.

Have a go on the inside of the domes with very fine (000) Steel wool.

Do it little by little til you get the desired frost level.

Mine I ended up going a bit more then I thought I would need to get the LEDs dissipated enough.

I used 220 grit sand paper in the inside of my 1/650 TOS domes.  I found the steel wool either was too coarse, making noticeable scratches, or too fine requiring a lot of elbow grease to get the desired effect.
