model display stand rod
« on: June 01, 2018, 03:47:17 pm »
I'm trying to find out how to install a model display stand rod to my polar lights 1-350 NX-01.
Trying to find this on line no success. I'm sure that the same procedure would work for any model.
Just don't want to start drilling holes in the saucer with out some help.

What i have found works great is lamp repair/building kits you can pick up fron your local hardware store. They are fulky threaded rods and you can wedge the model between 2 screwed in nuts. For me, I don't like threads showing so i bought some electric cord covers to put around the rod.

Ill be doing that in my 1/1400 Enterprise D build in the wip also theres a enterprise c build using that technique too. Should check them out.

Hope it helps!
