Aztec dummy
« on: July 22, 2018, 03:47:52 am »
I wanted to order some paint masks from aztec dummy. However I saw an old video on YouTube by Trekworks. It showed a problem with the masks coming off and that it removed paint in some instances. I would love to use them for my models but I have to import them to the UK which is expensive. I just wanted to make sure that this problem with the masks has been solved before ordering.

As far as I know he has changed the material that he uses which is less sticky. So there is no longer an issue with peeling paint.

I heard he changed the vinyl sheets to something that doesn't rip up the paint a few years ago.  I will be trying them on a 1/72 Eagle in a week.

Keep us posted as to how you get on. I'm still holding out to try HDA/Jerry's masks when they are released.

Lou Dalmaso, owner of Aztek Dummy, now uses low tack vinyl.
He uses them masks himself.
Check out he channel on YouTube.
