Tiny Maquis Raider - "Val Jean"
« on: July 30, 2018, 03:06:15 pm »
Hey all! At long last I have actually finished another kit!!
This is the Maquis ship from the 3-piece Voyager set (Monogram kit no 3607). It measures a mere 82mm long and 92mm wide.

It features:
20 SMD miniature LED of various colours with SMD resistors.
9 x 0.25mm FOs for the nav lights
All powered by a 9v battery in the base.

Paint is Tamiya XF-80 for the base coat then dry brushed with black and gunmetal to give it that well-worn space weathered patina.

I love the challenge of lighting these tiny kits !!! Next up, while plodding along very slowly with my D build, I plan to build this NX-01 1/2500 and of course, light it!!

9v battery for size comparison:
