A question about kit prices
« on: August 22, 2018, 04:39:19 am »
So I've been considering a build of either the Polar Lights TOS Enterprise or the Movie version.  I am consistently seeing a price difference between the 2 kits; the TOS version being around $20-$25 more.  I am just curious as to why that is; can someone please explain? ;)

Thanks!

Mostly due to availability on the market.

The movie version or "refit" was re-popped last year so there is still a healthy supply.  The TOS version hasn't had a re-pop in a couple years.

Thanks!  I thought maybe it was due to the nacelle motors?  Not sure they're included in the kit.  Supply & demand explanation makes sense.

Also, the TOS is really engineered well.  Very heavy duty.  I always felt it used more plastic than the refit because of this.  That was my understanding as to why the price difference.
