GarageKitUS TOS Enterprise colors
« on: November 05, 2018, 02:29:38 pm »
Anyone have any experience with these paints?

https://garagekitsuscolors.com/products/categories/trek-colors.html

I picked up the whole lot from a show in Orlando recently, and they aren't living up to expectations.
was hoping to see if anyone managed to find a way to make them usable.
When i was checking them out at the show they seemed to be very thin and alot of separation of pigment.  The rep/owner/salesguy said best to lay them on there side for an hour and shake very well.  i did and the stuff still beads up and separates before it dries on the model.

Emailed him a few days ago and have not gotten any response yet.

From my experience with their paints, you need to shake them REALLY, REALLY well. Having said that, I have a red colour of theirs that always beads up no matter what I do.

I have been in contact with Jesse over there.

He has been more then helpful in trying to resolve the issues.  lots of eliminating variables, but still having issues. so its either my setup, or a problem with my specific bottle of paint.  which it must be something in my setup because several other colors are giving me the same issue.

He is offering me a full refund or an exchange for the same paint.

So i wouldnt worry about ordering anything.  Just be sure to follow the instructions and test it out on scrap pieces first.
