Needs suggestions on how to fix a broken wire
« on: January 25, 2019, 01:53:10 pm »
I know what you're all thinking. "A broken wire? Well that's easy!" Yeah, but this one is butt up against the front landing pad of my BSG Colonial One and I'm terrified of trying to get a soldering iron in there -- I will almost certainly melt something I don't want melted. And there is zero play with pulling the wire out any further than it is.

It's the light for the front spotlight so it's not the end of the world if I lose it, but it was pretty cool. Here's a pic of the broken wire.

Thoughts? There's no way I am going to use a soldering iron. I kind of suck with them anyway. I don't know if I can rejoin them with CA glue?

Never mind, I tried a few fixes and it just wasn't going to happen. The model is now finished but without the floodlight, alas and dammit.

Dang.  Sorry I didn't see your original post.  I know the feeling on having something not work out.  Frustrating.  At least you gave it a shot.

To build or not to build.... that is the question.   The answer.... build... Duh.
